ABOUT SWIRL VINTAGE
The Swirl Vintage women’s fashion brand is the vision of two creative and entrepreneurial friends, Shawn Underwood and Jill Price-Crawley. Each brings a remarkable point of view to our product, and a spirit of joy and artistry that makes Swirl Vintage dresses irresistible to own. Shawn and Jill are inspired by soft natural fabrics and easy to wear dresses you’d find in the 1940s, that never went out of style.
Swirl Vintage makes simple wrap dresses from lightweight cloth in timeless woven patterns. Our materials are locally sourced, sustainably manufactured to be good to a woman’s skin and her planet as well. Our timeless dresses drape any woman’s figure smartly, she can move easily, and when she puts one on, she’ll feel well dressed and ready for almost anything.
Our dresses are distinctively designed and crafted with care in Seattle. Each dress is special, with embellishments, trim detailing and a charming curated collection of exquisite buttonry that makes these limited-edition garments almost impossible to keep in stock. Look closely. You will instantly find details make your dress stand apart in a world of mass-produced garments. No two are the same. And since Jill and Shawn introduced the notion of using buttons you’d find in grandma’s button tin, old keepsake attic discoveries from the past and treasures collected over the years have been sent to them from everywhere. Swirl Vintage’s growing community of followers contribute vintage buttons, lace and trim for use in this labor of love.
New ideas are always swirling at Swirl Vintage. New lines are continually on the boards. Our customers inspire and energize us to create. You are our muses. We're just getting started, so what we become, and what we design is a reflection of where you take us.
At Swirl Vintage we set aside part of the proceeds from each dress sale to support Mary’s Place, a wonderful local charitable foundation we love, whose mission is to provide safe, inclusive shelter and services that support women, children and families on their journey out of homelessness. This is an important part of why we exist. You see, when you work with fabric like we do every day, you gain an appreciation for the magic that happens when warp and weft meet to bind cloth together so beautifully, with such strength. We believe the same happens when people come together to create good works.
Only after garments have been fully enjoyed, we encourage our customers to send them back to us for which you'll receive a credit toward another Swirl Vintage dress. That way, the care that went into its creation, and the good times that become part of its fabric while worn, endure to become something new.
That is what vintage is all about.
